PROJECT DEPARTMENT

The department was set-up in 1981 with a view to streamline the acquisition of various assets concerning building infrastructure/ training facilities from various agencies. The department has over the years played a key role in the expansion of various facilities so as to enable the unit to be one of the premier technical training establishments in the Indian Navy. The unit has grown from a modest 411 acres in 1947 to 876 acres as on date. The department has also drawn a master plan for the future development of the unit taking into consideration the growth of the Navy in terms of new acquisitions and the technological advancements in terms of training.

The notable developments, which have taken, place since the inception of this department are:

Significant Infrastructural Upgradation in Married Accommodations: Qualitative improvement in married accommodations of both officers and sailors has been carried out. Special emphasis has been given to improvement in kitchens, toilets/bathrooms and flooring. Problem of wide spread leakages and seepages has also been addressed by carrying out special treatments to roofs and walls.

It was highly appreciated by FOC-in-C, HQSNC in April 09 during Annual Inspection. This facility has benefited the sailors' community to host their guests in the salubrious surroundings.
