MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

INHS Kasturi started as a four-bedded sickbay 1945 with 01 MO, 04 SBA and dental center. It was upgraded to a Naval hospital with 40 beds in 1978. The hospital was commissioned as INHS Kasturi on 02 Jun 1980, with 54 beds. The Commanding Officer's billet was upgraded to Surgeon Captain in Apr 06. Presently, the establishment is comanded by Surgeon Captain Mohan S Rote.

Besides catering to the medical cover for various sporting and adventure activities continually on throughout the year, Kasturi also manages the annual/special medical examinations, categorisation / re-categorisation / review / release medical boards, vaccinations, follow-ups, special instructions of the personnel borne at station Lonavala. Two  ambulances are available round the clock for service.
