EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

    The Executive department is headed by the Executive Officer who is also the Base Commander. This department is responsible for the general organization, discipline, training, welfare and well being of the Ship's Company and other civilian personnel in the establishment.

The Executive Officer is assisted by the following Officers for day to day administration:

  • CDR (BASE ADMIN). Cdr (Base Admin) is responsible for co-ordination of day to day activities and the various Base functions. He is to ensure that all hands on deck are properly utilised and is responsible for the discipline and welfare of the ship's company. He will act as Co-ordinator for the Executive Department and is also responsible for publishing daily orders.

  • First Lieutenant: First Lieutenant is responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the base including sanitary services, arboricultural, conducting the ship's activities, preparation and distribution of daily orders. First Lieutenant administers Watermanship Training Centre, recreational and other administrative facilities.

  • Signal & Communication Officer: The W/T office and main signal office at INS Shivaji is continuously manned throughout the year. A Telephone Exchange (EPABX) with DID facility is available for internal communication

  • Gunnery Officer: This establishment has an indoor shooting range and an Outdoor classification range with integrated skeet shooting Range. This range is the venue for Indian Naval Annual Musketry Championship. The gunnery department conducts Small arms training, Parade training and general seamanship training for Ship's Company. The establishment has an 18 men naval band.

  • Regulating Officer: The Regulating Officer is also the Assistant Naval provost Marshal, Lonavla. In addition to the discipline and movement of the ship's company he is responsible to Liaise with the Civil Police and related Agencies
  • Sports Officer: INS Shivaji has a 25 Mtrs and a 50 Mtrs. International standard swimming pool, which is used for training as well as recreational purpose. This sub-department conducts all activities pertaining to sports and physical training. Besides organising and conducting daily evening games, morning PT, inter divisional championships this establishment organises inter command and inter services championships.

  • Motor Transport Officer: INS Shivaji maintains a fleet of vehicles. Two buses, One Toyota Qualis and Two Maruti Vans are available for hire by all personnel at controlled rates. The establishment also has an IOC Petrol pump located at MT Pool.

  • Station Canteen Officer: This establishment has a fully equipped self service station canteen. This canteen stocks items both from the CSD and INCS.
  • Base Electrical Officer: The Base Electrical Organisation is responsible for the maintenance repair and upkeep of all electrical and electronic equipments installed in Steam Machinery Wing, Diesel Engine Wing, Gas Turbine Wing, PCT School and Motor Transport Pool.
  • Accommodation Officer: INS Shivaji has authorised accommodation for Officers, Sailors and Civilian staff. A majority of the accommodation is located within the base. Regimental Shops/ Kiosks for all needs of the residents are also available within the base.
